The First Baptist Church of Moffat supports cooperative ministries, children's ministries, anti-human trafficking, and food relief through Hope for the Hungry.
What is Hope for the Hungry?
Hope for the Hungry began in 1982 in response to Christ's command to "Feed My Sheep". At that time an average of more than 40,000 children around the world were dying daily from malnutrition and preventable diseases. After a mission trip to Haiti, Dan and Kandy Kirkley committed to help support a new children's home in Guibert Haiti for eight children with $200 per month. In over four decades of ministry, they continue to support the children's home in Guibert and their ministry now serves locally and around the globe in an effort to relieve spiritual and physical poverty needs. Their passion and their goal is to "Share the Bread of Life with a Starving World."
A percentage of our general offerings goes towards Hope for the Hungry every month. Our church has chosen to support our local community by designating this offering specifically to the Belton Hope House. This ministry works to bridge the gap for disadvantaged youths in our area by providing snacks, games, aid, and a safe space for these youths and their families to experience God's love and stay away from negative influences.
If you would like to donate to a specific mission in Hope for the Hungry (i.e. Haiti's Children Home, ARK2Freedom, Belton Hope House), please designate on your donation.
